Due to the fermentation process and the presence of yeasts necessary for that process, there are trace amounts of alcohol in kombucha. Kombucha's alcohol content is minimal, with less than 0.5% ABV. This technically makes kombucha nonalcoholic, as a drink is only classified as alcoholic if it contains more than 1.2% ABV.
